Play Media Album
Available for: Single Folders, Window background, Desktop

Play Media Album is a simple audio player which plays the MP3, Windows Media Audio (WMA) and Wave Audio (WAV) files in the selected folder one at a time in alphabetical order by file name. If you organize your audio tracks into folders by album (or create your own compilations of tracks), this tool gives you an easy way to get a little background music going while you work.

Right-click any folder containing audio files (or the background of the current folder's window) and choose Play Media Album from the ShellToys XP menu. The album-player window will appear and the first track will start to play.

The album-player also recognizes shortcuts to MP3, WMA and WAV files, allowing you to create compilation folders of tracks without filling your hard disk with multiple copies of the same media files.

Album-player window
The player includes standard button-controls for Start, Pause and Stop. The 4th button displays or hides the track listing (see below). Drag the slider to change the wave volume of your soundcard.

Keyboard users can press Ctrl+P to play or pause, Ctrl+S to stop, and Page Up/Page Down to show or hide the track listing.

To close the player window at any time, press Esc or double-click the progress-bar. The window remembers its screen position, and will start at the same position on next use.

To select a different folder, press Ctrl+F or (if the track listing is visible) double-click the folder name.

Track listing
The track-listing panel can be toggled using the arrow-button in the main panel or the Page Up/Page Down keys. Tracks are listed in alphabetical order by filename, and played in that order.

The name of the folder is shown above the track listing.

The currently-playing track is highlighted in bold type. Play automatically advances through the list until all tracks have been played. To jump to a particular track, either double-click it or select it using the arrow keys and press Enter. When that track finishes, play continues from the track that follows it in the list.
